You will only have to invest your funds in specific projects – no selling would be required on your part. All projects would be closed ended – this means there is no possibility of dilution arising from open ended structures. Furthermore, because of the closed ended structure, you (the investor) would know exactly what you are getting into – with open-ended structures, you have to trust the operators to not stray from the mandate. For example, if you buy 0.1% ownership in an oil (or natural gas) well, your ownership will remain the same for the life of the well – in an open ended structure, your ownership stake is always changing.
